25 Years of Innocence

Tomasz Komenda is 23 years old when his life is brutally interrupted. Early in the morning on New Year’s Day, he is dragged from his home, arrested, tortured, and unjustly convicted of the murder of a young girl, although he was nowhere near the scene of the crime. For nearly two decades of imprisonment, he is routinely beaten, threatened and humiliated. Tomasz’s mother Teresa vows to stand by his side and doggedly pursues his innocence. After almost two decades in jail, several prosecutors and a policeman bravely decide to reexamine the puzzling case. Eventually an appeal goes all the way to the Polish Supreme Court, gripping the entire nation in the process.
