Support the Avalon

Thanks to our many generous supporters, the historic Avalon Theatre was rescued from closing in 2003 and continues to be a vibrant, community-focused cinematic landmark in DC’s Chevy Chase neighborhood. As a non-profit theater, the Avalon relies on the support of our friends and patrons to maintain the theater as a venue for outstanding films and programs.

Contributions to the Avalon support:

  • DC’s only independent, non-profit movie theater
  • A dynamic mix of excellent studio, independent, and foreign films
  • Programs for all members of the community, including seniors, students and families
  • First-class digital projection and sound
  • Our beautifully restored historic theater building

Ways to Give:

The Avalon’s Annual Fund Drive provides financial support that allows us to continue our year-round high quality programming.

Estate Planning is an opportunity for you to consider how a life income gift or naming the Avalon as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or life insurance policy can significantly benefit the theater.
