Czech That Film Festival

The largest Czech cultural event in the North America, the 6th annual Czech That Film Festival comes to the Avalon Theatre April 12-13. Join us for two days of Czech film, food and drink presented in partnership with the Embassy of the Czech Republic.

This year’s festival opens on Wednesday, April 12 with the Czech box-office smash Tiger Theory, a poignant comedy about an aging veterinarian who embarks upon a unique journey of self-discovery. The film’s director, special guest Radek Bajgar, will appear and answer questions after the film.

Thursday’s presentations include Oscar-nominated director Jan Hřebejk’s The Teacher and Filip Renč’s dark WWII drama The Devil’s Mistress.

A reception featuring delicious, authentic Czech cuisine prepared by Embassy chef Zdenek Pecka will precede the screening of The Devil’s Mistress on Thursday.
