Marsha & the Positrons Holiday Concert
Celebrate the holiday season with your little ones at the Avalon during our winter holiday concert featuring Marsha & the Positrons!
Led by local DC singer/songwriter Marsha Goodman-Wood (who appeared during our Weekend Family Matinees winter series back in January) Marsha & the Positrons also includes djembe drummer & drum-maker extraordinaire Kweku Owusu, and skilled & smooth bassist Wardell Howell. Marsha has performed at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, the National Children’s Museum, Port Discovery Children’s Museum in Baltimore, and the Long Island Children’s Museum. She plays regularly at venues in the DC/MD/VA area that offer family entertainment, as well as libraries, schools, fairs and festivals. Her concerts are fun, playful, and educational — and entertaining for adults as well as kids! Kweku is the founder of Drumming Up from Poverty, a project that mentors street children in Ghana by teaching them drumming, dancing and drum-making. Wardell is a longtime DC-area jazz bassist.
Marsha and the Positrons will perform holiday favorites mixed with songs from Marsha’s original debut album Gravity Vacation.
